How to avoid being scammed when buying Scandinavian design classics!
the 3 crowns at the top was representing Denmark, Norway and Sweden the 3 Scandinavian countries, it's from the Kalmar union, they are rebuilding it, but yea an absolutely disaster 400 years of history burning
Certainly one of the greatest architects of the 20th Century. Have always admired the humanistic values incorporated in his building designs. Pictures of Aalto's work really don't properly explain their amazing originality. One has to experience these projects in person to really appreciate there complexity and originality.
Bro I was staring at the lamps in the house I’m doing today and had the same thought… just don’t make them the same anymore
What's the location?
Impressive but the music....
Hi, Your videos are very interesting and very beautiful. Could you do a tutorial on building the miniature of the fist chair by De Lucchi It would be very useful to me for school
Hm, my grandparents had a lamp like this. I don't know what became of it.
Roger Leloup is behind many of the object and vehicle designs in Tintin. His own comic was Yoko Tsuno.
Then You Know who Furniture builder master Otto Henrik Meyer from Kjøbenhavn is ;-)
Snyggt jobbat! ☀️
Not black. Oh my god 😂😂 even worse then before
Thanks for covering this designer. He was ahead of his time.
I love y'all

For some reason... Because Skånelandene was once Danish and being part of The Scandinavian Peninsula. Now they are swedish. That is why DK is part of Scandinavia 🙄
Your skills are undeniable. However if you want more views I’d honestly recommend removing the music and just have original sound. Restoration is amazing but the music is so distracting that I couldn’t bare it. Best of luck!
So glad I found this video, this was really informative. Thank you!

Y’all are the best! Thanks for your hard work on these videos
Where are all the Somalians?
Omg I so needed this walkthrough to grasp the whole idea! Tack så mycket 😁
Thank you for so many great videos! I especially like your videos about architects (of buildings). Could you make more on Swedish functionalism? I am curious about the apartment buildings around Stockholm. Beyond Markelius and Asplund, who are some others we should know? Thank you! :)
Loved the machine at 2:34
We live in houses like that because the Architecs, who themselves live in grandiose falu red villas with paned windows from the 1800's, only build white concrete boxes for the rest of the plebs to live in. Swedish homes are booring because they have been fooled by IKEA and every architect school in Europe, that this way of designing is the sh*t. The same people who are in charge of those institutions are the same people living in grandiose falu red villas with paned windows from the 1800's.
Beautiful!
Beautiful
I want totally trying to pronounce after you’d explain but I’m reality I bet I won’t remember how to say it when I actually get into ikea! 😂 thank you for the lesson! I will keep trying
Do the front legs screw on?
Those prices are just simply idiotic and cannot be justified by any means. I am all for paying fair prices for quality materials and excellent build quality but milking a design that's now 60, 70 or 80 years old and hiking up the prices is just absurd. Just look at the PK 31 3 seater - there is nothing overly complicated to it and and manufacturing costs are probably not even exceeding 2000-3000EUR. The rest is just the company milking the name. The Barcelona daybed is also a great example .. it's a simple frame, chromised legs, leather straps, a mattress wrapped in leather and a leather cushion. Companies should make a profit, no doubt and good ideas need to absolutely pay out ... but the margins on those classics are just outrageously disproportional to the costs.
Honey
I have a lamp that looks similar to this. The shades are soft, stretched over a wire frame. The base is circular and weighted. I think it's Ikea. Anyone know what I'm talking about? ... I found it. The name is Knasjo. It's a reproduction of the original Trinett.
The quality of their products then versus now is astounding. Today that lamp would be made of plastic and cheap thin metal.
Love it 🥰

Hi. I'm interested in the sources you've used :) Your video is very informative, but is there any way I could be able to access the sources? Thanks a lot
Le Corbusier a "patriarch" ? The most inventive architect of the twentieth century. Perriand described the work as being highly collaborative between Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret (his cousin) and herself; they were "three fingers on one hand."[7]

Great video! a note for any future watchers! as of late 2023, Kofod-Larsens designs are now available at Audo Copenhagen. A fusion of Menu and By Lassen

Nice to see you back! Missed you guys!
Alvar Aalto is one of the biggest criminals in Finland. He is responsible for the destruction of many beautiful old buildings so he could have his hideous concrete blocks instead. Just search for "Norrménin talo" and see what he built instead of that beautiful building.
You need a bench or worktop, mate!😜
How do you know he's not standing on the table?
I have a bench, but not a tripod high enough. I’m not usually working on the floor 😄

ALL RIGHT!!! Welcome back. Good to see you. Can't wait for more.
Thank you for this! Much appreciated.
Do you know anything about the Thonet model A 665 F? Supposedly designed by Josef Frank. I have been trying like crazy to find any information about it.
Hello! Sorry, but I haven't any good information about this model either. Frank did design a few pieces for Thonet, but it's not a lot of information available about this time in his career. But its a nice looking chair indeed. And quite rare.
